Zoo Field Trips Rock!

The Hellion and I decided that a trip to the zoo was a great idea.  My sister had bought him a pass already so that made the decision even easier.  We had a blast.  I think we walked the entire park at least two or three times.  We got to see a lot of animals that were under a year old; pygmy hippo, rhino, manatee and an elephant.  They were so cute and really cool.  We got charged by the rhino’s, which was interesting.  We also got to watch two brown bears play fighting in the water.  We fed a giraffe as well.  I really think it was one of the best trips we have ever taken.

Just hanging with the bat!

The turtle was giving him a kiss.  He was fascinated by the fish (gar I think, I can’t remember).

Feeding the stingrays!

He had to pet EVERY SINGLE GOAT in the enclosure.  There were about 10 of them.  LOL!

Since I am the person I am, I created a Field Trip Journal.  While all this fun was going on, he also had to learn stuff.  He said it was pretty cool and he had a blast with all of it.

Just some of the pages from his journal.  Some we did while there and some we finished later.  He still needs to add pictures to his three animal fact sheets he did.

Just so you don’t think I am a mean mom, he did get to have fun as well.

See, all kinds of cool stuff!

At the end of the day, the Zoo beat the Hellion and he crashed as soon as he got in the truck.  I say that makes it a pretty successful day!

I love a day like this. I’d even do worksheets for it. But I’d have to drive home, so I wouldn’t be able to chill all Hellion-style.

I’m here as part of the Super Sunday Sync.

He wanted to be fair to the goats. 🙂 This is a fun post. Thank you for sharing at Super Sunday Sync.
