HSSW School Away from Home Day

It worked out nicely that the day I was planning on being out of the house happened to fall on school away from home day.  I love it when things fall together like that.  We are doing our science unit on Space now.  So today we went to the Challenger Learning Center and watched Legends of the Night Sky:Orion in their digital dome planetarium!  It was a pretty cool show.  The Hellion was fascinated by the whole thing.  They had some space exhibits set up around that place and we had to check all of them out.

Apollo Lunar Module (plus the popcorn he begged me to buy, can’t watch a movie without popcorn!  LOL)

He spent a good 10 minutes checking out this model of a space station!  I thought it was pretty cool as well.

The fountain in the courtyard, had to go back to the truck to get a coin so he could make a wish.

No trip is complete without souvenir’s.  Meet Cage the alien and check out our glow in the dark planets that I now get to try to hang from the Hellion’s ceiling!

All in all we had a great time today and managed to get a lot done.  The Hellion even managed to learn some things today!  I am one happy, yet extremely tired mama!
