We are prepared for the zombie apocalypse

If you don’t think kids should play with any type of gun, then I suggest you skip this post.  So while I was trying to come up with fun ways to do math I remembered the zombie targets a friend of mine had given me, and then I remembered the paintball gun I had won and given to my son for Christmas.  He hadn’t even taken it out of the box yet.  Oh yeah, new game!  LOL, we played zombie math.  We set up the targets outside in the back yard.  The Hellion and I took turns shooting 5 rounds apiece.  Each area on the zombie was worth a different amount of points, he had to add them all up.  (later we will do this and work on averages and other math type things)  We had so much fun with this and we finally got to break in the new gun.  He ended up beating me 62-55, but I gave him an extra shot.   (No actual zombies were hurt while making or playing this game.)  So yes, we are now prepared for the zombie apocalypse.  The Hellion got really good at head shots!

(Yes, the Hellion was playing with paintballs in a white shirt, somehow he managed to keep it clean.  That is a miracle right there!)

This has been added to our list of games we will play over and over again (as soon as I purchase some more paintball rounds.)

So what fun ways do you have to integrate math into your day?

I have said this before and I will say it again, I love Zombie math! Such a good idea!

LOL, thanks! I love it as well and so does the Hellion. Love that we can keep using this even as we get into more complex math, things like averages, median and mean. 🙂
